# Open a live Instance log stream

> Opens a live log stream of the Instance's application log for one Reverb socket, with the access rule of `instance:logs`. The response signs the socket's subscription to `private-log-stream.{id}`; the Gateway then relays redacted lines from the Node agent there as `log.lines` events. Returns `logs.live_unavailable` with `details.reason` when the live path is not available, and `logs.stream_limit` when the Node already has 16 open streams.
